I took Lexapro and Topamax together. However, I hated the Topamax but everyone's body metabolizes things differently. I was very dizzy and just plain ole yucky on it so my neuro put me on Zonegran which is like Topamax, just not as strong. They are in the same drug class. The zonegran worked ok. One thing I will warn you of, do you like soda? Do you drink anything carbonated? If so both the Topamax and Zonegran will make them taste **terrible**. I then had to have caffeine withdrawls. Pick your battles I guess. My neorologist decided a few months ago that he wasn't going to percribe zonegran for any of his patients anymore. Why, I don't know. Then he put me on Inderal which is a blood pressure med but says it works for migraines. I'm taking something for my hypotension (to increase my BP) and now I'm taking something that was meant for high BP. This doesn't make much sense to me, I'd think they'd work against each other. I'm trying to wean off the hypotension drug. It can cause headaches. Working so far.
Look at the list of drugs I'm on. Your docs should know what meds can't be taken together and if he/she misses something, the pharmacy will catch it. They have a computer program that will spit out the info based on any other meds you're taking.
Sorry for rambling. It's late and I can't sleep. Hope I've been some help.
