Aura Migraines- Please help me

i have been doing some research about this and iam going to go to the eye doctor, but i want to tell my symptoms and maybe someone can shed a light for me.

i have never suffered from actual painful migraine headaches, but lately, i have a floating vision like wavy water on the side of my right eye, lasts about 10 minutes and goes away, today i got a slight headache after the episode.

also if i closed my right eye i will see funny zigzag shape yellow and silver color/  i think these symptomes a aura migraines, i only hope it is not a start of a detached retina, but i do not think so.

i have heard the eyedoctors at walmart are good, since i do not have insurance, i will go there.

any advice on this  subject for me? what do you think. i'am 51. going thru alot of changes too.

I can tell you that when my migraines come on, I get an aura which starts out as a small spot in my vision and the placement can change from headache to headache. The aura can be seen when your eyes are closed as well. The spot then starts to grow and looks sort of wavy and static - it gets like a half moon shape and slowly moves to my outer vision and can't see it any longer. After the aura goes away which for me is about 30 minutes, is when I get the headache.. Sometimes the pain is slight and other times it is excruciating. If you have never expereinced this before, I would certainly contact your dr.
(just typing this gives me chills - I hate these headaches)

thanks for the info, should i just go to the eye doctor not the general physician?
