New here. Anyone take Elavil?

I'm new to this side of the board. I'm usually in the bipolar or anxiety/panic side.

Anyhow, I was prescribed Elavil today for migraines and was wondering what everyones experience has been with this.

What side effects were etc.... Also does it cause weight gain?

Thanks for your response. I read about a lot of people gaining weight from it. My doctor didn't even tell me that yesterday.

I don't want weght gain so I think I may just stick to advil. Although that doesn't seem to be working as well now.

My doctor also said there is a pill that is for lowering blood pressure, and that helps as too. It's not prevention, it just treats the headaches as they come.

Has anyone heard of this?
