Waiting for DX

Hello all. I've been lurking here for a while -- even posted once or twice.

However, this week, the neurologist sent me for an MRI. I had the MRI last night. It wasn't as bad as I had heard it would be, but it wasn't fun. Now, I'm a nervous wreck waiting for the results. Nonetheless, I want to hear the results ASAP.

How long did it take for some of you all to receive word back from your initial MRI or similar exam?

Hi Tydna,

I know what you mean about being a nervous wreck about the waiting. I happen to be not-so-patient when it comes to BEING a patient! Mine usually take 1-3 working days. Usually If I dont hear anything by day 2, I call my Prescribing Dr. and Tell him the Test was done, may have my results please. Usually they then make a call, get the results sent...all done by computer nowadays, and poof, I get called in for a result!

Just curious, are you having this MRI to rule out MS, or do you already have it, and are looking for a new Lesion. I ask, only so I can pray for you ...which I will do for you whether you answer that question or not--just helps me understand what I'm paraying for! ~ God already knows your needs, so please don't feel you have to reply!

Hey Andy,

Welcome back. The MRI results should be ready in a couple of days. But be careful reading them ahead of your doctor. Let your doctor read then and interrpret them. They will not say MS or no MS. The radiologist won't give you a diagnosis. He will just report what he sees in medical jargon. Let your doctor read it and do and exam and then he will tell you what he thinks. Good luck with that. You are in the midst of a stressful time and you have every right to be anxious. Do your best to be patient and take good care of you.
