Hi, good morning everyone.
I decided last week that I would give in and try some medication. I was talking with my friend who is dying and I told him that I just couldn't see me taking any drugs at all and I'd just live with this awful "numbness" and the cramps. He was really surprised at me and said "I know it's not the same, but I couldn't cope without medication, there's no shame in getting some help". I just didn't want to go down the road of taking anything but I actually felt quite relieved once I had spoken to the MS nurse, who explained that a short burst of pregabalin could be really beneficial.
I got them on Friday evening and take 2 a day. Now I don't know if this is a coincidence and this was always going to abate for a while, or if the medication has already kicked in, but I have noticed my left hand is no-where near as numb or tingly as it was. My legs are still cramping and I'm still mixing up words.... (What is that all about actually? The other night I was out with some friends and I was trying to think of a word and just said "Errmmm, Pop Idol" Where that came from I DO not know!
So that's where I'm at regarding medication, I hope that it has started to work and I shall remain positive that this is just a little blip.
