It has been a while since I have written, my vision has continued to get worst as now I have multiple vision at night with lights and during. the day now words are on top of eachother. Esspecually without my glasses, I see double at almost any distance. The other new thing is constunt headaches with virtually no relief as I am taking up to 9 excedrins a day just to address these headaches. They would like for me to have a spinal but I am fearfull, I think I am mostly fearful of lack of conclusion or closure. My overall. Symptoms let's say have gotten worst but I am not complaining but I just want this nightmare to end and deal with what may. Does anyone out there have this double or multiple vision in EACH eye. I am seriously considering the spinal tap and am already becoming concerned about the approaching warm weather as I do very much have issues with heat.

Vision problems certainly can occur with MS. It sounds like you are not diagnosed just yet? You really need to see an opthamologist about your vision, which can also be the cause of your headaches.

Spinal taps can be uncomfortable, to be sure..but are a very useful diagnostic tool.

Hi Uppitycats, the optomolist I go to has a "wait and see" attitude, wanting to see me about every three months or so, I feel disgusted with him and HE is the one from the begining that brought this to my attention during an O.N, the second one, he even told me I may go blind in the right eye because my retina was detatached too. Now he wants to see me in March to see how I am doing with "warmer weather." But my vision is getting worse all the time slowly to the point I am now as mentioned above. I am seeing a new neuro in Aril. But my original question was does anyone out there also experience double or multiple vision in one eye only or in both eyes seprately. There is hardly any imformation about this specific thing anywhere. ThanksM

Hi. I'm not yet Dx... I have double vision in both my eyes... there are times when it get so bad I see a multiple set of things in both my eyes....the doctor covers one and it's still double vision.  I also have been getting alot of flashing lights when I get up in the morning and open my eyes.  I cannot tolerate any form a light (lamp, window, etc) first thing when I get up..I wear sunglasses for the first 10 min till my eye adjust.  I think I have Dry eyes.. not been Dx for that yet...but an Opthomologist suggest I do?  I no longer drive at night, the headlight from other cars are too bright for my eye and they hurt too bad. I'm going to be going back to the eye dr soon as this is just getting worst over the past year.

Yes, I have in the past experienced double vision, and blurred vision in one eye only, and also in both eyes.  Optic neuritis, among other eye problems, can cause that to happen. It also can happen when I'm overtired, or ill with other diseases (the eye thing is MS related, and MS will flare up when I'm sick with something else).

If indeed you have a detached retina, and the opthamologist didn't fix it right away, you need a new opthamologist who takes that much more seriously!

Hello again, the retina thing was " detatching from the venous " He said that it may detach the rest of the way or go back together (which it did do) and this was the same time of the opotic neuritis, same visit and really ever since the whole vision issue has been gettting worst. And so now I was wanting imformation one the double vision in one eye thing. Thank for your answer, I really appriciate it.

I also have double or blurred vision in both eyes. At first it was just my left eye, now I notice it from time to time in both. Since I have never had any eye issues, don't even wear glasses, I have to thank the MS for that.

confused   hey auggie,

           I think that if you are having those issues and they are getting worse then you should go for the spinal. I know how scary that sounds because my doc has thrown that option out to me and i rejected it. If the docs think they can find out something more that is going on with the spinal and you could possibly get an answer or treatment options you should go for it. Thats my opinion...you have to do whatever is going to make you happy and whatever you are comfortable with. My thoughts are with you and good luck
