Tuesday a.m.
Good morning, everyone:
about a year after we were married, 20 years ago, my wife blinked her eyes at me, and asked, ".....can we get a doggie???..."
Never having a dog growing up, it was really the last thing I wanted to get involved with.
The barking...the digging...the droppings...the expense.
Robin wanted a dog...I did not...so we compromised...we got a dog!!!
A stray from the streets of Detroit...from the Vet we used to live down the street from.
She named the dog,"Oreo." Well, all my apprehensions about having a dog came true...
But...I figured...heck, if my Robin married me despite the fact that I was a MS patient, I'll deal with the dog!!!
People would tell me, "...you'll grow to love the dog."
I would respond..."..no, I love my wife....I tolerate the dog."
We had "O" for 14 years until her passing, @ 2 years ago.
Robin has been hinting, not very subtly, that she would LOVE another dog.
I love her way more now..but..my MS has advanced...I could not even let a dog go outside, if it wanted to...
Sorry, my Robin. When that MS cure comes along, you can have three dogs!!!
