1st Tysabri infusion

Hi Everyone,

I am back from my first Tysabri infusion. Everything went well (well besides the 4 sticks to find a vein, lol). No allergic reactions, etc. I am so glad its over tho. I was so nervous all night long thinking about this. I am so excited to see how i do on this new therapy. So, i just wanted you all to know how it went and will keep you updated. Thanks for all the support thru this

Wow I am so excited for you Lynn!!!  Good for you!  I am so glad it went well but for the four stabs.  Your veins were a bit nervous huh?  I am sorry about that.  I truly hope that this is the therapy for you.  Think positively and know that I am praying for you lots, my friend.

Good for u!! I"m sorry about the four sticks, but so glad things seem to have gone well for u! Rest this afternoon and take good care of u'rself. Thanks for this update and please continue to let us know how u'r doing!

Good for you Lynn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope everything works out for you....Too bad they had to poke you four times........Not that I am a dr. or anything but-------they say if you drink lots of water before you are to be poked you will be hydrated it may help?Really glad that all went well for you YAY Lynn!!Bet you are glad that is over with....................Hope you are resting and not worrying about it anymore....barb....

Glad everything went well and you had no allergic reactions.  Sorry about the four pokes.  I have tiny veins, and can relate.  Take care of yourself.

Thank you all for the support! I don't know what i would do w/o you all, honestly. My night went well, i felt a little warm and i had the chills a little but other than that, things are good. Thanks again for the support! Will keep you updated. Next infusion is scheduled for april 22.

they say if you drink lots of water before you are to be poked you will be hydrated it may help?

 

Being new to this whole thing, I'll be really curious to read your ongoing progress, Lynn, thanks for posting it... and thanks for this tip, Pokey. I've got veins that run and hide from needles, the labs hate me (really, they're nice about it but they've massacred me so bad trying to get blood, til I tell them it's a butterfly in the back of the hand please) so I'll be sure to try this too! Thanks!

Hi Lynn,

I'm so glad you have the first one behind you, it was quite nerve-wracking for me too.  The nurses also suggested to me eating some chips or something salty the night before infusions, I'm not sure why that helps (water retention?) but I've heard it from more than one nurse now.
