Gretchen, Sunny and everyone else,
My Neuro left a message on my answering machine saying that he was going to order 2 more non-invasive tests. The evoked potential and brain wave. This will be set up after the holidays

The test I was referring to was the CRP- reactive proteins.

I will go check out the menapause site thanks a bunch

Not MS, but some other autoimmune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, among others).

Seems like your doctor is properly exploring all possible avenues for you. I hope you get some solid evidence soon.  Take care.

Thanks for the link to the menapause site. Yes I have a lot of those symptoms. (can we talk girl talk?) Okay now since I am nursing my estrogen and progesterone are real low anyway. I did have a light auntflo 2 weeks ago which lasted only 3 days.

Actually I have been losing weight easily. Maybe due to the nursing. He is growing!

I do have the crashing fatigue which just so happened yesterday for the 1st time! I had an emotional upset and a short while later felt extremely sleepy and just wanted to crash.
Today I got tired as well but I'm still walking around.

So I am due to see my OB Dr. on tuesday. For some reason I don't want to tell him about the MS suspician. I'm worried that he will think I am headed for a wheelchair or something. You see I am studying to be a Bradley teacher and I would like him to referr patients to me. When I had my 4th child he was my back-up Dr. He was pretty upset when I phoned him to tell him I was holding my son in my arms! The homebirth was all planned. I just never told him
I could ask him if he could do bloodwork on my FSH levels and whatever. SHould I do that?
I sure hope this is something else. I'm keeping a diary of my symptoms now.
I have been doing a lot of praying too.

I think it quite reasonable to share with your doctor your symptoms...and ask for a blood test to see if perhaps your hormones are "out of whack". Remind him of your age (although he probably knows), and ask if perhaps you might be dealing with some early menopause issues. I wouldn't confuse the issue with a "suspicion of MS" just yet... try to deal with one thing at a time.

There's an old medical expression: "If you hear hoofbeats, think HORSES, not ZEBRAS"...meaning, start with the simple, more ordinary, more common possibilities first. If those don't pan out, then dig deeper. If it turns out to not be menopausal stuff...then there's always time to look further.

I'm not a "prayer". I don't hold any credence in the thought that "God knows", or "God will only give you what you can handle", or "leave it in God's hands and he (she?) will deal with it" or any such stuff.
Life happens. Only certainties I'm sure of are these: you live, you die. Sometimes in the same instant. But if prayer gives you comfort, then GO for it!

My Neurologist thinks that none of my symptoms that I am describing are neurological. He suggested that I contact my PCP so that he can prescribe some anti-anxiety medication for me or get some psychiatric help.!?

I know my symtoms were real. I do however think that I was feeling much worse after hearing the impression from my MRI. So some of it may have been shall we say "suggested to me" and I took the ball and ran with it.. So from this day forward I'm not going to think I have MS and I'm going to just concentrate on my family. I hope the brain fog goes away soon or else some kind of explanation will show itself to me. I did go and get my lab done on Saturday. It was just a lipid panel, glucose, and that C- reactive one.

And I'm sure a lot of mom's get stressed taking care of 4 small children. My dad told me that my Aunt and my 1st cousin both had vertigo after having their last child so maybe this kind of thing runs in the family.
Thank you so much for your support with this. I just came back from the store where I bought a few cards for my friend's mom and my friend who are out in California. I am very greatful that they came to my aid while I was so distraught.

Do keep track of any new symptoms that might occur, and let your doctor know about them. And follow up with the menopause thing - -which can cause all sorts of emotional instability along with real physical symptoms. And you're right -- keeping track of 4 kids is a huge challenge, and I'm sure you know you're a little old to have a new baby, which has to be stressful too. I hope you feel better soon.

My Neurologist office called and scheduled me for 3 tests. The evoked one for the brain stem BEAR?
an EEP and some other one. They are June 3rd and 10th

I have also been very very sleepy today all day. I called my therapist to ask her if any of this could be coming from stress or mental problems.

It is also very warm here and humid. Showers just went by. I'm going to go for a hike and see if that doesn't wake me up

Those tests are to determine how well signals are getting from your brain to various body parts, and are all part of the diagnostic process.

If it is very warm and humid there..and the heat and humidity seem to bother you greatly..be sure to tell your doctor about that. Many folks with MS have a hard time functioning well in heat and humidity.

It was not just the crashing fatigue but also my legs felt heavy and weak. I did go on that hike and felt pretty good. At times I got a little dizziness but I kept telling myself that this thing.. whatever it is.. is only temporary and that I will be back to my old self soon! I'm trying to stay positive.
