Hi Guys, Its been a while since my last post , I have since moved back to the states from Australia and wanted to say Hi.  I am finding it tough to find a job back here and did not forsee having this much difficulty.  I have a nero appintment on Thurday at the MS clinic here in Atlanta, anyone been there before.

Hey Allan

Welcome back to the board! It's good to see u, but i'm so sorry for u'r troubles finding work. That can be very frustrating. I'm wondering...do u disclose u'r ms to anyone in interviewing?? For the jobs u'r seeking, would u need to?? Just kinda wondering out loud. Take care and let us hear more from u.

 No I dont tell them, by law I dont have to. I would if I was offerd the job though.   I have an interveiw on Monday with the company that I worked for before I went to Australia and they  know about my M.S so I have my fingers crossed.

Hey Allan,

It is good to hear from you again.  Good luck finding a job.  I don't know anyone that has gone to the MS clinic in Atlanta.  Let us know how it goes.  You will be our resident expert on that clinic.  I am saying my prayers for you and your work situation.  Welcome back to the states.

Hi Guys,   I went to my Nero App at the M.S Clinic in Atlanta on Thur and had the best visit I have ever had since I was DX with M.S, and for me to say that is saying something.  They want me to enter into a trail that would last 23 weeks.  I am considering it at this time but I am also close to getting a great job and this study would take a few hours a week for some of the test.  I use to work there and they know I have M.S but still I don't want to push my luck.  This job is the most important thing for my family and I right now and would provide Health Insurance so if I don't partake in the study I will still be able to treat my M.S. 

The medication study is a pill form of Tysabri or CDP323 and will be a double blind study.

Hey Allan,

I am so glad to hear that you have a good doctor!!!  That is an awesome feeling.  Remember that if you are on a double blind study, then you risk receiving no treatment for the duration of the study.  I am very grateful for people who are willing to do this but it is just not an option for me.  I want to know that I am receiving progression therapy and not a placebo.  Good luck with the job - I am praying that you get it!

Thanks for the prayers Gretchen.  I do realize that I may not get the drug but then again I don't have medical insurance and that is why I'm considering it. BTW, I had a good Interview today and will find out at the end of the week if I got the job.  If I get the job I will not be parcipitating in the study but will have health insurance again and can get back to taking care of the my self.

Alan, I am very curious about you getting insurance again... is there any problem with getting new insurance when you have the MS dx? Please let me know because unfortunately around here it's been our experience that one dropped forever lost.

D'awesome,  I dont know about the insurance with a new job yet,  I dont think they can decline to cover me if Im become an employee of the company can they.  Even if they wont cover me  I still have a job and can support my family.  My son has Mild C.P) Left arm only) and sizure disorder that we have a good handle on so I could use insurance for him.    I will have to check it to your question for my self.

Good news . I received a phone call Monday morning for a job offer and I accepted.  I took the physical yesterday and passed it with flying colors I'm told.  The Doc couldnt tell that I have M.S but I told him anyway ( after I passed) .  I also told the HR manager ( during the call) and he did not sound concerned and went on to tell me that his sister had M.S, but was not doing well .  I felt bad that I didnt tell them in the interveiw but if I had they would have never called me.  I am excited and scared at the same time in if my legs and feet can handle working on the plant floor for 8 hours. I  sat behind a desk 70% of the time for the last couple of years and  hope this does not cause the burning in my feet to get to worse.  Dont know if I could take anymore pain and still work.  I hope you all have a good day and God Bless.

I am so glad.  It sounds like everyone is on board with your MS as well.  That is good to know.  Let us know how it goes.
