You know What?  Today is Monday and that means shottime for me.I dread it.  mad When will they come out with a pill rather than a freaking shot?  My neuro told me at my last visit that they tried something (don't ask me what hehe) in pill form but, the stomachs sucked them up and wouldn't help.  mad When they day comes I am going to be so happy.

I hope you get through it as best you can. It must be so hard having to do that all the time. It would be great to take a pill. Maybe one day. A girl can hope.

TY Sanddune....After I take the shot I'm good.....Just the thought....Hopefully, tomorrow I won't have any aches from it.  Sometimes that happens....it isn't everytime i do a shot...about once a week.   I'm glad I don't have to do it everyday.   You take care as well.

...i take shots 3 times weekly and about once a week i feel rotten from it....

I hear ya...I forgot to order my refill in time, so I missed last weeks and I can't say I'm so sad about that. It will probably mean I'll get the aches and pains this week though. How long have you been doing the injections? I may try to come up with some little reward for myself each time. Although the once a week is nicer than when I was on Betaseron.
Either way....here's my inspirational story-
I was diagnosed in March of 03 and was on my way to pick up my Betaseron at the pharmacy a month later. Was doing very poorly from exacerbation and feeling so sorry for myself and even sorrier to have to learn to do shots. I stopped to get a latte at the coffee stand outside (reward?) and there was a jar raising money for Juvenile Diabetes. There was a handwritten letter by a 5 year old girl talking about having JD since she was two and she was learning now to do her own insulin injections. Five or six a day! I put some money in the jar, along with my self pity, picked up my medicine, went home to my own healthy kids (including a five year old) and...you might think that's the end...but no.
One year later there was an article in the paper about this young girl and her friend raising money again for their walk teams. I sent them each a check and a note, explaining how she helped me to be brave! Her mom called me and we have stayed in touch, each encouraging the other. This year we started a joint kick off fundraiser for my MS walk and her JD walk- St. Patty's day party at my house with crafts for the kids and lots of fun! She has a pump now and that brave 10 year old explained how that worked to a room full of adults. She plays soccer and softball and does excellent in school and she is my little hero. And that is my inspiration every time I don't want to do a shot. Thanks for reading my long story. Willow

This is the coolest post ever!!!  I had goosebumps reading this!  This is a great, great post.  What a wonderful, totally perfect story!!  Thank you so much for reminding me that I really don't have it so bad!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!  That is so sweet, kind, wonderful and everything all balled up.  AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH !!!!  This story is so beautiful and so very scool eye opening to me as it should be.  I am so fortunate to not have to do the shot thing more often.  I always tell people that I am very fortunate with my MS and that their are so many others in this world worse off.  Now I feel so crappy about complaining about the shots. <<<< I'm such a wimp.  That story is just the best.  Thank You so very much for sharing that.  It is very inspirational and I loved it. yeah

I'm glad that you both liked the story. I didn't want you to feel crappy about complaining though- I thought about that after I sent it. It was such a reality check for me at exactly the right moment. I'm not as religious as I ought to be, considering such moments of divine intervention. Like I said, there are still days I really hate my shot (well, every time) but I have my little hero to reflect on and keep me brave. I let myself have times of self-pity once in awhile. I try to limit it. I vacated the house for the 4th last week and had a whole day of letting myself feeling sorry for me. For all sorts of reasons in one- but that's it! 1 day and I drag myself back up.
Anyway, it's a story I love to share and the best part is it's still growing. She is the same age as my son, maybe she'll be my inspirational daughter-in-law one day! Ha- at this point in their lives, the opposite sex has cooties I think.
Anyway- we like the fact that some research that is being done into myelin repair may also benefit juvenile diabetes research and vice-versa, because both are autoimmune. And maybe they'll have a pill for us soon and they are working on an artificial pancreas for JD...and next up...the cure and prevention!

We just have to deep praying for a cure for a whole lot of diseases and sickness.  I still loved your story.

That is such  a great story. Thanks so much for sharing that. It does make things a little easier when you hear stories like this. God Bless the child.

WOW WILLOW!!!!

I'm no where near where everyone here is. I don't have ms and don't do injections, but this story u've shared with us is amazing!! How could it be anything less than inspiring to anyone! Thanks so much for sharing and for taking it to the next level and sharing u'r story with that little girl. U've built an amazing relationship with u'r hero and i'm sure given her a hero in turn.
