Does anyone else have hearing problem in one ear. Is this common?

MS can definitely affect hearing.  I have no hearing troubles, (knock on wood).  Anyone else???

Hey sanddune,

My family is always telling me to turn down the tv, lol. I did have my hearing checked and it is fine, however i think for me, it is more of a concentration thing. Alot of times, if there is other things going on around me, i tend to loose my concentration and tend to turn it up so i dont get distracted. Probably ms related in the cognitive category i would assume. My mind tends to wonder sometimes, deffinately due to this ugly disease i would bet.

well my darlings...my son and husband say it is my attention <<<< well, my span is 100 percent!!!! haha................i had my hearing checked too ladies but, i really don't need any hearing help....just a new brain...but, i hope you find out what it is...oh yes, i have had ear waxings and still can't hear

Oh I can't stand anyone talking if the tv is on.  I can follow neither conversation nor tv if both are going at the same time.  I attribute that to my attention problems.  I am totally easy to over stimulate.  You should see my classroom!  Those students are silent when I am teaching or when it is time to get to work.

My hearing was an early sign I think. Full hearing test totally normal(not to mention useless trips to dentist and orthopedic for bursitis (not).
I can't have multiple sounds going on. There's a great book "Too loud, too bright, too fast, too tight". Written for sensory defensive disorders, but I think with MS and damaged nervous systems we might become more sensory defensive. So the multiple sounds is one thing. But my hearing actually goes out completely in one ear. Can't predict when and it may only last a minute or so, never longer than a couple minutes. It's a strange strange thing. Neurologist said it is probably the MS. I wish I could control it ;)

That would tend to get to me as well.  I hope they can fix it for you. yeah

Oh these threads are excellent for me to show my son and husband. I'm always saying "What?" and of course, that drives them looney. So it is my MS and I can tell them that.
