I have been ghosting and posting on a few MS forums for months. I thought it was time I said hello. There is a tremendous amount of support and knowledge out there from forums just like this.

My personal story with MS started in August of 2008 with a bad case of optic neuritis that came out of no where. In talking with my wife, friends and family I have decided to start a blog on my life with MS. My goal is to help anyone I can who is going or has gone through the trials associated with the onset of MS. Please let me know if there is anything you think I should include or present on my blog. Bear in mind I am just getting started this will grow on a daily basis.

Hey Dave,

Welcome to the forum.  I am glad you have found us.  I hope you post often.  Make sure you have read the rules to posting here.  Your blog looks really cool.  I understand that want to help others and that is huge in the world of MS.  This forum has pretty strict rules on links but yours seems to be ok.  You just have to remember that this site is run on advertisements and we can't have any competition there.  Your blog looks fine at this point.

I am really glad you have you here.  We don't have a lot of men posting and we can use your input and experience.  We chat every Monday night at 6PM central time. I hope to see you there.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Thanks for the feedback.

I don't see a personal blog like mine going advertising crazy or anything like that. I hope it helps some people get through their parts of the process with MS. It was a hard decision to put my story out there. With talking to others, my family etc. and going through what I have, I felt its important to share as much as I can. Hopefully it benefits someone someplace.

I just wanted to post a quick update for those I have been in contact with. I am getting better with my all-natural approach. The new program my doctors have agreed on seems to be working well. We are going to give things six months from the original MRI's and reevaluate with an MRI and follow up blood tests. Day 14 on the new program and I have had 5 or 6 days where I seem dare I say like my old self.

Thanks for the update Dave.  Please post what you think is working for you if you can.  I would love to hear what you are doing.  I will check out your blog.  Are you not doing any med. treatment at all?  Take care.

No, I am med free. Trying a natural approach to it all and its working out very well. I have been keeping a journal as well as the blog to track what I am doing, what I am taking and how I feel each day. With the swank diet, supplements, vitamins and herbs it has been great. I am lucky to have the doctors I have found. The mesh well together!

Hi Dave!!  I'm new here myself, just found this site in some paperwork I had, and it seems to be a great place!!  I was diagnosed May 11th 2001, I woke up that morning and couldn't see out of my left eye, but somehow made it to the office and the Doc I worked for checked me out and sent me to the Neurologist right away!!  I stayed in the hospital for a month doing the Solumedrol and it made it worse. I'm glad to hear that the natural route is working for you!!  I also have a cervical syrinx inside my spinalcord, so they check on it with a MRI quite often.  Hope you continue to do well!!  Glad I found a forum that I can finally relate to other people on.  Take Care Everyone!! :-)
