Finally caved in and emailed my neuro's office with my current symptoms of my legs in severe pain by the end of the day, the current (5th major UTI in as many months) , the right side numbness etc...
His scheduler called yesterday with a cancellation appt and asked if I could be there in an hour... of course! Wow, what a shock considering regular appts take 2-3 mos. And when I saw him he did the whole exam, listened etc... and said it's sounding like an exacerbation of spasticity... I feel short shanked in the calves like I'm in high heels all the time, my right leg from waist down is radiating pain to the ankle and "drawing up" so that it only feels ok if it's crossed over my left leg and practically pulled up to my chest... and it's always good in the morning after the nightly cocktail of Tylenol 3, Mirapex and Flexeril but I can't do those during the day and function or drive. So by days in I'm in agony again and the cycle starts all over.
So we talked about flares, told him I can't tell what's what... He said this is one... new symptoms, 24 hrs or more... sometimes they're uncomfortably intense sometimes not... asked if I needed to visit the ER (like with my arm...he said no, but beware if it combines with more heart attack symptoms, don't take a chance, being a woman though, we're different, so he agreed, make someone aware around you and then use your judgement, you'll know when it's really bad wrong.)
And now he's got me on Bacoflen 2x daily... what can anyone tell me about this one? I've never had any dealings with it, how does it differ from Flexeril? It warns against drowsiness so I'm a little hesitant to take it during the day... yet.
Thanks for listening...
