right arm down to fingers feels heavy and numb.  Still moves ok, but is extremely strange!!  Any ideas what might be causing or any way to relieve it?  Have MRI today at 3:45pm CT.  Hopefully we'll find something out soon.

Hey Dolpinlady,

Well this is good timing for an MRI. I hope they requested contrast. If this is MS (and I really hope not!!) it will show as an active lesion if you are having a flare. It could rule MS in or out. That might speed you on your way to some answers.

As far as what to do about the weird sensory stuff, well that is another story. There is really not a lot you can do about this. Numbness is one of those symptoms that is considered a nuisance. They really don't do anything about numbness. If it is permanent, you learn to live with it.

Thank you Gretchen. It's been with me all day today as well, and the more I use it the worse it feels. It's been making my shoulder blade hurt too. I haven't heard from the doc yet about the MRI results...maybe that's a good sign. Or it just means he's been really busy with other patients and just hasn't had the time to review the results yet. Gotta think positive though, right? I think the knowing yes or no might help me a little...but, then again, probably not!!! Thank you.

Yeah we have all been there with the waiting. Just try and be patient. I know it is very hard when waiting for information about your health. I wouldn't read too much into the doctor not getting right back to you on the MRI. Remember that MS is not life threatening and so doctors are going to get back to you at their convenience. Again, good luck and let us know what you hear.
