Could My Neuro Lyme Be MS? or No?

I am not sure what to think. There is a ton of controversy over the MS/lyme issue. Some feel they are seperate and unrelated, some feel that lyme can trigger MS and some feel there is no such thing as MS just misdiagnosed lyme.

Do you have white matter lesions on a recent MRI? I have heard that lyme causes lesions as well but I don't know if it causes lesions everytime. With MS it is very near impossible to get a DX without lesions. According to the diagnostic guidelines, there is a reasonably distinct look for MS lesions.

The problem is that these two diseases have very different causes. In MS, it is an overactive immune system. In Lyme it is intercellular infection. The treatments for these two diseases are the opposite of one another. MSers attempt to modify or suppress immunity. Lymers attempt to build up immunity with either antiobics or other remedies.

I really don't know that much about Lyme. I am very sorry that yours presents like severe MS. I hope you get some relief soon.

I don't have any answers for you. By the way, sound sensitivity and tinnitus can happen with MS. I have not heard about the sun sensitivity.
