MS gone???

My brother had a major headache and then two seizures (late 2004). He was dx'ed with MS, due to the plaques that showed on the MRI. Started anti-seizure meds and Copaxone in late 2004. Last year, he had a clean MRI! The neuro says that it had to have been some temporary incident, but not MS. Can this be????

Hi KC... I'd never heard that. Did your brother have a lumbar puncture done? If not, then maybe it was a fluke. I know my previous lesions were not considered lesions with my last MRI but rather plaques or scar tissue. On another website I belong to, there have been instances where people had previously had lesions but a clean LP, then they had a "clean" MRI and a positive LP.

I'd recommend that he have the LP done just to be on the safe side and not discontinue his medications at this time.
