Can depression mimic symptoms of MS?

Hello. I just joined because i need some answers. I have been having strange symptoms for at least 8 years. I'm becoming so frustrated because my doc seems to think this is just depression and is ready to just right scripts for yet another antidepresant that always make me feel worse.

I guess i'm wondering if anyone was told this to then later be dx with MS. My symptoms are primarily on my left side and sound exactly like ms. I also have the fatigue and dizziness and the memory issues.

I know that no one can tell me what this is exactly. I just need to know if my story sounds like any of yours?

It is not uncommon for doctors to go with other diagnosis prior to MS since in some individuals it takes years for symptoms to manifest in the MS direction. There are many things that MS mimic and sometimes with doctors you have to be aggressive and your own advocate with your health care. It is afterall, your body and you know best how you feel and if help is not being provided. After 8 years it might be time to seek out a second opinion. Best of luck and hope you feel better.
