Hello, everyone!
I have been having neuro syptoms since my daughter was born in 2000. I have had "absent seizures", TIAs, decline in fine motor control on my right side, these vibrating sensations in my legs (so real that everytime it happens, I put my hand there and expect to feel it with my hand, but of course I don't), I shake constantly, numbness in either my big toe or little toe on right side for no apparent reason, burning sensations in my toes, weird little muscle spasms in strange places like one part of my shoulder or one tiny part under my shoulder blade, etc. Just thought I'd give you some background. I've also experienced some symptoms that I thought pointed to Lupus, but when I went to the rheumatologist on Thursday, he seemed to think my symptoms were more related to MS.
Ok, had none of these symptoms til my daughter was born. During child birth, I had an epidural. When the anesthesiologist started to insert it, I felt a very sharp electric sensation all the way down my right leg and through my large toe. I cried out, and he said, "Where did you feel that?" I told him, and he pulled it out and started again. The new epidural was successful, but only for the left half of my body. Then my BP dropped almost immediately and my O2 sats dropped to the 60s. The doctor of course started pumping me full of drugs, and baby and I made it fine. Then within a week I had my first episode that my mom said looked like a stroke. The right side of my face was drooping and I was unresponsive for about 2 minutes. I went to a neurologist then, and all they did was an EEG, and the doc said it was stress. I continue to lose consciousness with these spells, yet none of the doctors I've talked to seem to think it's a big deal. They just look at me like I'm crazy!
Just wondered if any of you have these symptoms, and if any of you think there might be a correlation between epidurals and MS???
Sorry this was so long!
