Hi Linda,
Sorry for your new diagnosis of SPMS. I received my news several years ago. Up until this last winter, things had been fairly calm for me. However, my affected side (right side) is getting progressively worse in terms of stiffness, drop foot, constant pins and needles in my fingers. Hearing is not good, balance is not good...I am constantly falling backwards. My memory is terrible and my ability to concentrate is pathetic. The heat and humidity affects me more than in the past. I have had to finally throw in the towel and go on disability pension at the age of 58. I do not have large flareups, but instead, I find that my health is slowly deteriorating. On good note, I can still hld my grandaughter's, (Charlie) hand when we go for a walk. I have had to make concessions to disease and it drives me nuts at times. For the most part I try to stay upbeat with a healthy sense of humour. Speaking of humour...I was the talk of my 40th high school reunion in late June...not because of my M.S. as one my have thought, but because many of the girls were rather jealoius that I could still fit into the same earrings that I wore in grand 12. Hope all takes a good course for you , Linda. Keep us posted as to how you are feeling. Dale
