    Hi Everyone

 

  Went to the MS clinic in Toronto and am told I do not have MS.... yahhh

They did an evoked potential test and mine was normal.. He told me that if I had MS I would not have any normal reflexes, and mine were good. Am so happy to hear this news... He says I most likely have fibromyalgia and that I need to see a rhuematologist for diagnosis..  wasn't so happy to hear this news....  do they know how to treat fibro... and do they really believe.. I guess it's been around for sometime now and hopefully I'll find a good doctor to treat me.  

   Guess I'll be hanging out on the fibro forum.

Hi Abbey,

Glad to hear that your evoked potential test came back normal. It is my understanding that fibro is not a disease but a list of symptoms that are the result of another medical condition. Have you seen some improvement in your symptoms since your earlier posts here? I saw a rhuematologist last year who prescribed neurontin (Gabapentin) to help with my numbness. While it did reduce the intensity a bit, I eventually discontinued it because it stopped working after three months. Anyway.... I hope that you are feeling better.

Hi Gary

I've been sick since I came home... for about10 days. My legs are burning, and still wobbly, and burning sensations in other parts of my body also. Then I started jerking again. I've been very tired and slept most of the week. Didn't particularily feel nausous, but didn't eat anything all week. Also have been having tightening in my calf muscle that is pulling my foot to the right. My legs have been numb and tingly all week. The tremors in my hands have never gone away, they seem to be worse when the jerking gets worse. My doctor is away this week so I won't be able to talk to him for a bit and from what I hear there are only 3 rhuematologists here ... slim pickins.. lol... and one is a real jerk I've heard. The doctor in Toronto told me that anyone can get tremors and I can get medication for it ... so I hope that will help me out. I've been taking the vitamin D (4000iu) and citalopram (1 a day) , but they said I wouldn't feel the effects for about a month. So I'm patiently waiting. Not ready to go back to work yet but hopefully will be soon... just want my life back.. btw ... they wouldn't test me for lyme's disease because I don't live in the right area.... hmmm...
Thanks for you post Gary, hope you are feeling well. Did you have to go off work ?? I'm very concerned about this, don't want to have to go on disability... very scared that I'll never be well enough to go back..
