Hi,
I need help in understanding this, any information you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
In June 2009 the left side of my face went numb for approx. one week, suddenly I got vertigo (the numbness went away). The Vertigo lasted 2 weeks, it took me an additional 3 weeks to get back to normal. Fast forward a year later one wk-end the right side of my face began to feel numb I immed. went to the Dr to receive the medication for vertigo, I felt fine by Sunday nt.
My Dr. booked me in for an MRI due to the numbness, she called me in to tell me 2 lesions showed up on my MRI, she then proceeded to tell me that I have MS.
She booked me for a second MRI where they use the dye and sent me to a Neurologist. He checked my reflexes and sight and confirmed MS, immediately he wanted to put me on medication (injections), I refused.
A few days after being diagnosed by the neurologist my right hand and right calve/foot went numb and I have double vision, it's been this way for a week.
I have always been very healthy and come from a healthy breed. Nothing like this has happened to me before. I'm 42 years old.
My question is this... is an MRI enough to confirm a diagnose of MS?
