Hello everyone,
I am a 27 year old female who has not felt right in a long time. I don't think that I'm even in touch with what "right" feels like any more, as sad as that sounds.
about me:
Migraine headaches (Had as long as I can remember)
Lesion in left hemisphere of brain found at age 23(said to likely be gliosis)
Central and obstructive sleep apnea(diagnosed at age 25)
Narcolepsy(I don't agree with diagnosis)(diagnosed at age 27)
Depression started around 21
Anxiety started around 22
Tingling, recent (lasting longer than 6 months, mainly in my back that lasts all day, moved up to back of neck)
Muscle spasms in both feet, recent (painful but not both feet at the same time and not lasting longer than a few minutes)
Hands locking in place, recent( thumbs bent inward toward palm, all fingers stiff and straight, very hard to bend) only happened once
Okay so my neuro has ordered MRI on my brain several times going back since 2007 and nothing with my one lesion has changed. He has never mentioned MS. They have scanned due to the migraines which lead to the finding of the lesion which had been there sence 2005 or longer, unchanged.
For the tingling, same dr. ordered an MRI of Cspine late 2010 and it was fine. On my next follow up with him, every three month because of the sleep apnea, I asked him again about the MRI because the tingling had not gone away. He referred me to a neuro surgon who said it was not my back causing me my tingling.
So waiting again for my follow up with my neuro, on new meds for migraine preventative and energy now for narcolepsy, my tingling has become more wide spread, and ALL DAY, EVERY DAY now! My hands and face become numb as I work my way up to the full dosage of my migraine meds. The dr. said to expect that and I called the doctors assistant and they said it would go away in a few months of taking the meds. So a month and a half into new meds, my hands, out of no where, locked up on me at work. There were numb at the time, so it was not painful. I did have to leave work and go to the ER. The right hand let up on its own before I got there, so it was only locked about 45 minutes but the left one was locked for several hours. I was given meds to relax it. Bloodwork showed no reason for muscle spasms and my neuro called me on the way to the ER and said that it was not a reaction to the meds I am taking. I had another brain MRI and am waiting for the results.
This ER visit was just a couple of days ago and already another spasm in my foot, while typing this.
I'm still getting headaches but the are at least managable now.
And even on a pill for energy, I still at times, feel so fatigue that I don't know what to do with but just cry.
It's overwhelming and such a lonley road when you feel like no one takes you seriously about how you feel.
