Spinal Tap

Well after getting bloodwork done and an mri, my new neurologist is now sending out for an Spinal Tap and I could use any info, I did read some, but what should I expect and will bloodwork be taken as well? Something showed up on my brain mri but I have not been to see the doctor and she seems very concerned. only thing about the bloodwork was it was lowD and I do not understand I'm supplementing with 50,000 iu of D twice a month and I only forgot once this year and both times blood has been done it has been low???...I have had bad emg's (the first neurologist to do the emg's said I had the nerve of an 80 yr old person and I was only 46 when that was done)...This neurologist did mention inflammation, don't know why inflammation keeps showing up..I go back to she her on the 22 August, Something is going on with me and I hope this spinal tap can pinpoint what...

Spinal taps (or lumbar procedures as they are sometimes called) are fairly simple.  Mine was done without using any anesthesia.  A very thin needle is used to draw a sample of fluid from your spine.  Although not too painful, it was a little uncomfortable.  It also takes a few days to get the results.  The results may not confirm MS, but can help rule it out. 

August 29th I go for the spinal tap (lumbar puncture) about 3 hours at the hospital before the procedure then 4 hours lying flat afterwards...

Had to go to my pcp because of the lying flat for 4 hours after, I'll need either Xopenex or albuterol inhaler treatments...can't lie flat without coughing...got a copy of mri results and it show "chari" 5-6mm...that has me a little worried....

Had Spinal Tap on 29 August, went down hill from there as first blood patch was on Sept 2, and second blood patch was on Sept. 6, so been out of it...Got results today not MS, but lots of lows and highs on Bloodwork...
Question CSF Mono was a 12% and a asterisk was by it but do not know what that means???Normal is supposed to be (16-56) % and Beta Gobulin was 20.9 % and those were the only thing from the spinal fuilds to stand out...
Bloodwork Low's on WBC, HGB, MCHC, NEUT% and NEUT # and again low D's which I'm supplementing for over 6 years now third time D has been low in a row...
High Blood levels are: RDW, MPV and LYMP
Currently, very dizzy, some shortness of breath, some nose bleeding, also posted this in the CP forums
Neuro suspects Auto Immunne(SP?) and next steps are neck MRI's and more bloodwork, waiting for now on bloodwork as last blood patch blew out 4 veins and very bruised...then maybe a muscle biopsy...
and y'all know I'm so tired of all this...Help...
But, glad it's not MS...and feel for all those that do have MS and how they have to go thru all this...Dang it they need better testing!

With the spinal tap I tested positive on two rings and my MRI shows I have lesions, however I still have not been diagnosed. I do however have all the other symptoms.
