copaxone problems with injections

Hi, I have been helping my husband to inject the copaxone med. for almost 2 yrs. Had first serious reaction the other night. Uncontrollable shaking, spasms and fever. Next time injected the needle did not go in and it was the hip area. When we gave up and pulled it out there was no tip to needle to cut off and he had largest welt he ever had - 4" in diameter. We now do 3x/week for over a year we did daily. For about 8 months doing 3x/week. Called the company and waiting to have new visit with nurse. When my husband had the severe reaction this week on Mon, the neurologist had nerve to not call us back until the end of the day and then said "maybe we are getting sloppy with administering the injections since doing it for so long"( 651 times- we write it down every time we administer in the calendar book and note any problems). To say his "bedside manner" is lacking is putting it mildly. Looking for new neurologist. Nurse from Copaxone was very nice and comforting and we are waiting for dr to approve of visit. Anyone have similar problems with needle not going in at all and nothing of needle to cut after? Any adverse reactions?

I use auto inject. I had some nasty chills last night about 40 minutes after doing the shot and it was a first for me. Wrote about it here.

Well, I haven't posted on here in awhile. I've been on copaxone for right about 4 years now. I did get switched to the 40/mg 3x per week. Taking fewer injections is good, lucky insurance did approve it of course.
I had one of those dreaded reactions (back when I was on the 20mgs daily) and it was different than it was ever explained; lasted longer and it didn't start till 30 minutes after I took my shot. I did call shared solutions right afterwards, and they said they had heard that before. I called my neuro also, as I was instructed. I wasn't able to get ahold of her that day. I went ahead and took my shot the next day. Everything was fine, I just tried to not worry and stay on track with my treatment.
3 shots a week is better, I haven't had a bad reaction, chills here and there, I am thankful for that. Copaxone is a good med, all of the ms treatments have side-effects, which stinks. And of course, we have all heard everyone is different.

Copaxone inst used for the treatment of symptoms. It's intended use is to help control and slow disease progression. BTW, If you do not have MS, there is no literature available that would suggest it would harm a healthy person. So consider that a good thing. Simply put, Glatiramer Acetate AKA Copaxone is amino acids and Mannitol. In fact, i believe that Copaxone should be administered the moment a Neurologist hinders the idea of MS as a diagnosis in a patient. Usually when a person exhibits their first symptoms they are still in the CIS stage of the disease and it is at this critical point that it can be halted 100%
