Hi everyone,
Boy have I got a story for you. Three days ago I burnt my left middle and ring fingers in the oven. Then the next morning, we woke up to a bedroom full of water from all the rain we are having. My boyfriend and I were supposed to be going away that day, and we found out the ferry to the island where we were going to stay was broken down. It seemed like this mini trip was not meant to be! Burn, flood, and a broken ferry. Needless to say I was very cranky, having got about 2 hours of sleep before waking up with wet feet.
The landlord got the water situation under control finally, and a substitute ferry was brought in.. finally we were off!! and boy did we need the time away! We got there, had a nice BBQ and some drinks, and plunked ourselves into the outdoor hot tub with an ocean view... AHHHHHH, rest, peace, happy happy happy.
Couldn't get much better I thought.. until my boyfriend told me to close my eyes he had a surprise for me. I love surprises! Turns out it was the one surprise I've ever truly wanted....an engagement ring!!! After 7.5 years together and more than our fair share of challenges along with way, I feel so lucky to have this man finally commit to be with me forever - no matter what. I always knew he would be, but this was huge for him and he did it! He even picked out the most beautiful ring all by himself.
Unfortunately I can't wear the ring just yet until this blistery burn heals (what are the odds, really, of burning your ring finger right before being proposed to??) lol. Doesn't matter, that's just the way life is sometimes and I know now through my diagnosis and everything else, what really is important.
