This is a ttrivial thing nut we have to laugh and be trivial every now and then. I have always heard that if you have a headache you shouldn't eat ice or any other frozen treat (ice cream yum). The other day when I was talking to someone about my MS she told me the same thing goes for any brain disease. NO ICE CREAM. FORGET THAT. Ice cream is my favorite treat. It can be 32* outside and i still want ice cream. This wasn't a medical person who told me this so it's probably an old wives tale. Have any of you ever heard this? Just curious. Bye

I think that whoever told you that is confusing "not eating ice cream if you have a brain disease" with something called "brain freeze"..
"brain freeze" is a phenomena that -- for MANY folks who eat ice cream -- who do not have any sort of "brain disease" -- if they quickly eat or drink something that is very cold, they can develp a headache...
the headache can be sharp, intense..but fortunately very brief and fleeting.
So yes, an "old wive's tale" is a good way to describe the notion of "don't eat ice cream if you have a brain disease".
By the way, MS is not a "brain disease" anyway...but an autoimmune disease, where your own body's immune system attacks itself, destroying the myelin that is on the nerve in your brain. A subtle distinction, perhaps, but a very real one in the medical world.
