I don't know if I can explain this accurately, but here goes...

For the past month, I've had very sensitive skin.  I can rub my hand over or scratch anywhere on my body (back, stomach, arms, legs, face, head, ears, etc.), and I get these tingly sensations which run over my back and head and which last for 15 to 30 seconds. Or someone can just lay their hand on my should or back, and I get the same tingly electrical sensations over my back and head. It's weird!  I've never had this before. It doesn't happen when I lower my head, so I don't think it's Lhermitte's. 

Also, my hands have been giving me a lot of problems lately with numbness, pain, and tingling.  But the weirdest thing is that the skin on my palms whenever I touch something or rub my palms has a strange shocky feeling, like a bad sunburn. 

Has anyone heard of this?  Any ideas as to what it might be?  Would it be MS related?

Sounds like neurogenic hypersensitivity to be sure. My mother experienced this...she had lupus.

I would like to add to my last post, after reading yours again. Please notice that I was diagnosed in 1998, however I did NOT have a positive MRI until 2004. He based his dx on my symptoms, and family history. My father has MS. My cousin(something removed), who is my grandfather's twin sister's daughter, same age as my father, also has MS. Fortunately my doc is a great leader in the field of MS/neurology. He is also a professor at the University of Rochester here, teaching other people to be neurologists, and works on several research studies on MS. He put my on Avonex in 1999, and for the most part, I have been in remission since. My biggest complaint has been the hyper-sesitivity resulting from MS-related neuropathy. All things considered, I consider myself very fortunate!

Thank you! I get the same symptoms. My palms often feel like rug burn. Just wondering - I get a flushing in my face. Seems connected to stress. Is this familiar to anyone?
