im super scared. it started a year ago with sharp pains in the occipital nerve area. i got the pains again recently. now my symptoms have included a tingly sensation in some of my extremities along with a somewhat bloodshot eye (same side as pains, but has went away) and a weird dizziness when i walk. this could be my OCD, as it makes me assume the worst and i could be being a hypochondriac, as i read about the symptoms of MS and a brain tumor and think i have one or the other. i have a neuro appt. on january 2nd, but im SO SCARED right now.
let me know what you think!
A MUCH more likely possibility is something called occipital neuralgia --a form of migraine --than "MS or a brain tumor". I don't know how your parents got from an occipital headache (a type of migraine) to "sitting wrong", but there is not likely any connection been that and "bad posture".
I did a quick google search on occiptal neuralgia and found NO mention of "MS" or "brain tumor", so I think you should stop obsessing about that, though. If you do your own google search on occipital neuralgia, you'll come up with lots of sites, some highly technical, and some written for the layman, that explains it.
January 2 is NOT that far off. Many folks wait MONTHS for a neuro appointment, and yet are still alive to talk about it. So will you be.
