Eye floaters

I noticed a stationary floater (is that an oxymoron?) in my right eye for the past month. It looks like a piece of hair going right down the center of my vision, and several black clumps that look like mascara stuck on my lashes. Previously, I've only been able to see this when I looked at a white wall.  

Today, however, I've noticed that I'm seeing this floater and several new ones constantly in my vision of my right eye no matter where I'm looking.  My vision has also been very blurry in that eye today as well.  

Has anyone had this problem?  Do you think it's something that I should see an opthalmologist about (providing I can get my husband to pony up the dough for another copay to yet another specialist!)

shashi-I'm sorry this is happening to you but I'm glad I'm not alone. That is almost exactly what is going on with my left eye (my symptoms are mosly on my left). I have several "stationary floaters" that looks kinda like eyelashes. I must of got use to looking through them because I didn't notice them much unless i was looking at something white, but its getting worse. also, now it gets blurry sometimes when i try to write or read something. My eye feels wierd, I havent been able to find the words to describe it. Do you feel like your eye takes a second to catch up with your head when you turn it? I have an appointment with my neurolagist (sic?)the beginning of Feb. i'll ask him about it.
