Hey Cats,
The strangest thing has happened. I woke up a few days ago feeling
pretty good. Since I have been DX'd with SPMS, and I have never
known a day since last March without symptoms as bad as the excerbation
and O.N. that started me down this road.....I am puzzled as to where all
the symptoms went.
My legs are nowhere near as weak and wobbly as they have been over the
last year, as well as the symptoms we all deal with on a daily basis. My body
feels like a switch was turned off overnight, and I feel a ton better.
It's not that I am free. It seems I have aquired hand tremors that drive me nuts
as I eat or read and I didn't have those before. My face gets hot now and I don't
remember that happening before. And my although I have more energy, I still have
our old friend fatigue. My legs still have weakness but it is barely noticable, not the
same as needing a cane or can't get out of bed.
I am not looking at beating up the gift, but I just feel so different.
Any ideas? Obviously it could be a remit of some kind, but relapse/excerbation for almost
a year? I consider myself pretty knowledgeable now, thanks to you and others and
my own research, but I have to say that this really surprised me.
(Oh, and because I have lost a bunch of muscle mass, and have difficulty in swallowing and a couple of other ideas, my doctors are looking into the other sclerosis, including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Not a happy thought. Not that they want to change their DX, just being on the cautious side I guess)
