Hey Everyone

What a day...er...week. U all know of my troubles with my stomach and my eye pain. Well for the last about 2 weeks i seem to choke on almost anything. From the most solid to the thinnest of liquids...it just somehow seems to go in my throat the wrong way or wrong place or whatever and i'm left choking and spend the next 20 mins or so overcoming that. Today has been just that way...but with a twist. I woke up with that awful eye pain. Ate something so i could take my Maxalt. I took it and almost immediately started throwing up. No relief from the med of course. Couldn't keep anything down to be able to take another pill. To add to that, i was choking on the vomit!!! HOW IN THE WORLD?!?! Seems crazy since it's coming out, but somehow it happened each and every time. Then came the diahreah again. Just as it has been all these last couple of weeks. On top of all this has been the dizziness. Seems every time i tried to get myself up i'd be so dizzy i couldn't stay up. If i'd been able to stay up, however; my legs wouldn't 'have held me. They were soooo weak and just not able to hold me. All this has been happening all day and finally my sis (she's a nurse) told me to use a phenerghan suppository and i did. It helped stop the throwing up and i could get something down. I took another Maxalt at about 3 thinking i could hold it down, but no such luck. Then after the suppository another and this time it's stayed down and i'm MUCH better. The diahreah, dizziness and weak legs are still here...have become resident to me...but the throwing up and eye pain are much better. Sorry i haven't been around today to look in on the board, but as u can see i've been preoccupied.

Bummer, girl!!!  You have had a rough day.  I wish you could get some answers!!!!  I feel so badly for you.  Hang in there.  I am praying for you.  I have done the spinnnig head - throwing up thing.  It is not fun.  I also have an easy choke reflex - usually liquids.  I hope you are better real soon.

Rhonda, I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. I had something similar a couple of weeks ago, at least with the dizziness and nausea (I've had diarrhea off and on for over a year now - chalked that one up to IBS.) My neurologist has me on 1/2 a valium every morning, which has helped the dizziness tremendously, and also stopped the nausea (which I guess was caused by the dizziness.) You might want to try something like that for your dizziness. (Valium is a vestibular suppressant, meaning that it inhibits the signals going from the inner ear to the brain that make you feel like you're spinning.)

I hope you get to feeling better.

Hi Rhonda,

wow horrible!!! Most pain is tolerable....but nausea and spinning is just awful!!! I really hope that the doc can help you to sort this out!

Hi Rhonda,

You need to be really careful!  Especially with the bloody diarrhea you have had and now this.  It could all be related.  If your blood counts were too low that could account for dizziness and weakness.  I still think you need to get the stool culture and find out what you are dealing with.  Did you ever call your doc to let them know what is going on?

Hey!!!  Sorry you're having such a bad time.  I definitely agree with shellypoo.  U definitely need to go to a dr.  That dizziness could be because of a low blood count.  Remember a few months ago when I went in the hospital.  That was because of my blood count.  I pretty much had the same symptoms and also was dehydrated.

I don't have the colon test until the 26th so must wait for that to get any answers on the d and such. I"m hoping she'll tell my husband something that day, but most likely i'll have to wait for the follow up appt. I haven't called the doc for the stool sample because i was going to ask the gi doc about that the day i see her, but as i type this it JUST ocurred to me...duh!...i won't be able to do that then! I'll have an enema..and many meds to take the day before that'll prevent that. Hummm...i see what u'r saying now! I'll call my doc in the morn and set something up for later this week. I haven't called back to let the doc know about yesterday, but didn't feel i needed to because i didn't think it could be related. I have the dizziness and weakness alone...without this d and such. The choking is new, but is a symptom i could somewhat expect given all that's been going on ms-wise. The vomiting is unexplainable. So i see also u'r point...i'll discuss this all with his nurse in the morn and have her relay it to him. I have a short trip planned for tomorrow thru Wed and maybe after that call i'll need to reconsider. I"ll post back when i know more...thanks for u'r input...as u can see it's been invaluable!!! :))

Yes ma'am!! I remember u being sick before and i'm listening. I'm not sure my blood count was so low he was THAT worried because he didn't protest at all when i said i didn't want to go in the hosp, so i'm thinking it's ok. I have been drinking a lot of water...seem to be thirstier than usual and coke isn't cutting it...so shouldn't be dehydrated, but who knows. With all that d and such it could happen! I'll be especially careful and pay attention to everything. Thanks! Good info and good to know to watch. I am going to call my doc in the morn and i'll tell him about all this then.

I'm sorry i missed u all at chat as well. Yes, i'm feeling much better, thanks! :) My husbands family had a short trip planned for my girls over this spring break so i went along to let them go. I'll never try something like that again after being sick, but i'm glad i tried. We cut it short and came home yesterday instead of today and they had a good time in spite of me. As for the doc, i still have a colon test on the 26th (eewwww!) and i'll know more about the probs i'm having then, but as for my mri's they were all clear. I'm not sure if i should be happy about that or disappointed. Seems no answers are coming for me yet, but i guess the alternative of no answers is possible ms and that's not desireable either. Thanks so much for posting to me! Im not sure if i'll be in chat next week or not...after that colon test...but i'll be back this week. Talk soon! ;)
