I have yet another question for everyone. My Mother has diabetes and she was told that what I have may be a gland problem. Are there glands that can have problems and mimic ms? Has anyone heard of this? Apparently if they are removed the symptoms can go away. Thanks.
Sherry
A "gland" problem? What "gland"? There are lots of "glands" in the body, each of which serves a different function. Thyroid problems -- the thyroid is one such gland --can cause problems that mimic MS, so if that is what your mother is referring to, you should go and be tested. Your thyroid can malfunction and you can either have too much or too little of the secretions that the thyroid produces. Hypothyroid, or hyperthyroid -- and either can cause symptoms that might look like MS, "from the outside". If your thyroid is not working properly, and you get treated (usually by meds, rather than removing the thyroid), some symptoms can go away, or at least be greatly diminished.
But thyroid problems..and diabetes...are not MS.
