I forgot to mention that I'm very weak and have shortness of breath even doing the simplest of things. If it is MS, I don't understand having all these symptoms so suddenly. My cognitive symptoms are really bad as well.

Anyone experienced similar symptoms with MS?

Weakness could be an indicator of MS...but could be an indicator of a whole bunch of other disorders.  I just answered your post about MS and LYme. Have you been back to your Lyme doctor to talk about these?  Given what you've described...so far...of your symptoms, MS would be at the bottom of my list of things to investigate, after all the other stuff -- including a re-occurance of Lyme -- has been ruled out.

i thought i had ms i am weak down one side fatigue etc i  have had an mri scan and i have a cyst in my brain slighty to my right thats why it affecting my left side i have to have an op on wed i was con vinced i had ms

good luck with the surgery--keepsus posted when you can--let us know how u r doing--I'm glad it wasn't ms.

I am sorry you are having all these problems.  I have had some of the same symptoms too.

I am in central NJ (shore area).  You too? 

I second what uppity said about lyme.  I was dx with MS for 7 years before I found out I had lyme.  The usual labs (labcorp, Quest) use cheap test kits and their tests for lyme are highly inaccurate.  Lyme is a tricky bacteria because the bacteria can evade the immune system and your body does not produce antibodies.  No test is 100%, but the best lab in the country for tickborne diseases is Igenex in Palo Alto, CA.  Any Dr can sign the needed form.  Lyme is a clinical dx and a negative test result doesn't mean you don't have it. 

BTW shortness of breath is the classic symptom (there are others too) for Babesia, which is another tickborne co-infection.  60% of people with lyme have 1 or more co-infections.  I had Babesia also.

I live in Aberdeen...Would love to chat with you.. I had lymes 13 years ago. Not sure if this is a relapse. My western blot tested negative. Not sure if they sent it to Ignex. I'll find out.. I want to know more about Babesia..
What do you mean about Babesia being a co-infection? Never heard of it.

Hi Eleanor

I know Aberdeen well as I grew up in a neighboring town.  I now live south of there.

There are co-infections such as mycoplasma, babesia, erchlichos (sp ?), bartonella and some others.

If you would like to chat more about lyme, go to the lyme board and start a thread and I and others will join in.  I  am not sure a detailed lyme discussion is relavant to this board, and I don't want to upset anyone. 

Who treated you 13 yrs ago and for how long?

Would it be okay to call you sometime? It would help me to talk to someone who has lymes since I had it too and now I'm experiencing lymes/ms symptoms?
