Hi All,

I am back in the hospital for the 2nd time this week.  i have a bowel obstruction.  I am in very severe pain, was admitted yest. early morning after just coming home from hospital Tues. evening for same thing.

 

My MS is kicking in terrible due to all the stress and pain.  I am dizzy and very wobbily.  I just wanted to let you all know.  I am really feeling like a burden to my family especially my hubby right now.  My hubby is a pastor and i missed Easter, mother's day and now father's day due to being in hospital.  He stays with me up here but it kills his back to lay on the so-called cot.  It is so hard for him to juggle all his ministry stuff and me.

 

Thanks for listening.  i don't know yet if they will have to do a laparoscopy or not but i will not go home before  monday.  I hope this is coherant I am on dilaudid and phenergan.

 Hi Michelle,

I am so sorry to hear that you are in pain and have to miss yet another important day. God love your hubby for being there to comfort you and support you. Hope they resolve the bowel issue and you are feeling better soon. That old ms monster better behave or it will have all your friends here at Healing Well out to put it in its place. Those who know you in their heart, especially your family, know you are there in spirit even when you can't be physically. Take care Michelle.

Hey Michelle,

I am so so so sorrry.  I am sick about this!  You are such a strong and inspirational person to me and I just hate to see you go through so much.  I am praying lots for you and just hoping you can get some relief.  It doesn't make any sense for you to suffer so much.  I love you lots dear friend.  Take special care.  Let us know all you can about what is happening.

I don't know what to say. U are going thru so much and have endured so much only to have more to endure. My friend, u are so on my heart. I will be right here and keeping those prayers going for u. Please remember that u'r so loved by so many here and elsewhere. Don't feel u'r a burden on u'r husband or anyone else. U've given so much to so many...and i'm one of that huge number...and u should know how precious u are to us all.

Do u know what the docs have in mind as to how to treat the obstruction?? Please call on me for anything I can do for u and u'r family. I will happily help where i can. Take such sweet care of u'rself and know how much u'r cared for and loved.

Hi All,
I am still in the hospital- very serious. Th doc put in an NG tube yest. and a PIC line, I am still on nothing by mouth. /i don't know what will go on today, it is possible i may have surgery but hopefully not. Those of you who have my email addy, I cannot check it here, for some reason I can't pull it up. I am at the same hospital i was for my colon surgery and earlier this week. Thank you all for your uplifting thoughts and sentiments, I really need them. Take care, I will try to update you when I am able. :)

Hi All,

  

My update--- I found out through this whole ordeal that I am severely malnurished, due to the surgery, diarrea and lack of absorbtion of nutrients and protein.  My intestine is healing, I am beginning to feel much better. They started me  on TPN thru my pic line and they removed my ng tube yest.  Due to the glucose in the TPN, they have to monitor my blood sugars so I will have to be careful what I eat while

I'm on this stuff when I'm able to eat.  (I'm not diabetic) I have lost 7 lbs. while I've been in here.  I am still on my drip as well.  The doctors believe that my colon was so full and stretched for so long before surgery that my small intestine was affected and it is having a hard time taking over.  I pray I never have to go thru this again, I was seriously close to death, I don't ever want to feel this ill nor do I want anyone else to!

 

I'm hoping they will let me go home by the end of the week, I think they may let me eat something today.  Take care all of you.

Hey Michelle!!!!

GOSH...i'm sooo glad to hear u'r feeling a little better!!! Wow...7 more lbs?? U just don't have it to lose. How is the pain? Still having as much? I hope with the possible shrinking down of u'r small intestine and hopfully things moving well, that u'll have no more cramps and pain. I"m so so glad u'r feeling better friend. I know u've been thru so much and u just keep hanging in there with chin up encouraging us all in our probs. U've got to be the strongest person i've even known. Keep hanging in there...keep getting stronger and get well very soon. I've still got plans to take u to Monty's as soon as u'r able! For now rest and be better my friend.

Hi All,
I came home from the hospital Friday morning but I was already having severe pain with nausea after only being home a short time. I had eaten a little bit of solid food the day prior and that morning and lunch (small amount of oatmeal and then 1/2 a sandwich). Home health came out to instruct on TPN and I was so sick I couldn't focus and then started throwing up while they were here. My hubby called my doc and she said either be readmitted or see if home health could give me phenergan and morphine. The company that would supply the drugs said it would be several hours so I opted to try a phenergan suppository and it didn't do anything...I had a very long and sick night.

Yest. I spoke with my doc and she said to see if they could bring the meds then and if not back to hospital. She said no food for several days. The home health nurse was able to get the company to bring the meds and I finally was able to rest. I also changed the TPN from 12 hours to 20 hours running time because I had severe diarrea the night before as well as feeling restless and just "off". The nurse also gave me a bolus of saline solution, I was dehydrated.

Needless to say this is not over yet. My doc doesn't know what to do, she now thinks it must be related to my MS and I must be in a big flare or the progression has affected my stomach and small intestine more.

I am feeling better having slept all night.

I am hungry but cannot eat but today I have to drink fluids as I am already feeling dehydrated. I am off my Avonex shots until all this is straightened out.

 My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry you are still having a rough time and hope the doctor finds a solution soon. Get as much rest as you can...we will all keep our fingers crossed and hope the best.

I"m here if u need me at all! I'm so sorry that this is happening, but i know u are strong and faithful and u will get thru this!! I will be right here saying prayers with keys in hand should u need me at any time. Hold on tight friend and know u are heavily on my heart.

My heart goes out to you. You are in my prayers. When your own mind and soul is too consumed with pain and suffering, and too tired to pray....know that there are so many who feel privileged to do it on your behalf. Close your eyes and try to picture many hands held in prayer....surrounding you in spirit.
