Twitching in right foot?

I am having some serious twitching in my right foot. It is pulsating. I can feel it and see it when I look at it. It is not constant but it is there. Anyone have this? I have MS and am wondering if this is MS related or something else....what do you all think???

I think I'd go a bit batty if I tried to highlight every twitch and muscle contraction and nerve impulse that occurs with my ms. Yes, it's likely related to your having MS. Seems like MS most often "attacks" the legs (and of course the feet and ankles are all attached.) It's likely a "nerve gone wild", causing the muscle to have spasms, causing the pulsating sensation.

Hey Theresa!

I used to get something like this on the inside of my right foot all the time. It just went away on it's own one day and so far hasn't come back...but as with any oddity of the nerves...it could return at any time. I agree with Uppity, it's prob resultant of u'r ms, but not neccessarily something u should worry about unless it becomes painful. Maybe at least note it in u'r journal for future reference if needed. Take care!

Hi guys,

I've just googled " muscle twitching multiple sclerosis" and found heaps of sites that I found interesting. The "ticking' that I get sounds really similar to what you've described. The sites on a whole say it's pretty common in MS patients, and names specific types. Fasciculations, myokymia...... something about it being the spontaneous release of an axon, causing the contraction.......
I've just seen my neuro and mentioned the muscle twitches, he proceeded to tell me that they are not a symptom of MS????????? (Which is what prompted my googling).

Getting another MRI today, so will keep you posted.

Yeah I think this twitch bothered me b/c I have felt so much weaker on that side lately. Also, I have been doing too much online research and began to think that it was something far worse than MS. Anywhoo....went to the neuro today and I am relapsing. I am going on steroids on Monday. My right arm and leg are very weak so it will be nice to get some relief.
