Gday Everyone!
I am feeling very pleased with myself. Today I skipped work and went to see the new GP that had been recommended to me. She was fantastic!!!!! I explained the history of my symptoms to her, spoke to her about my MRI results and discussed my current state of health. She was such a great communicator. A rarity, in my experience. She couldn't believe that in all of this time (over 18 months from first dr's visit to now), I had not even been ordered a blood test. She is contacting the neuro and is even going to VIEW!!!!! the films of my MRI herself. What a woman! Funnily enough, my finger started to do it's twitching in front of her. I also had it recorded on my phone to show her, but it was just like providence. There was not a trace of "God Complex" from her at all. She seems so thorough.
Guys, thank you for convincing me to chase this issue up. In particular, thanks Uppity. I got to thinking about one of your previous posts, where you suggested I should be followed up in terms of thyroid, B12 etc. Guess what - you were right. (Hmmm, I'm faintly suspicious about your occupation! LOL. I'm so glad we've got you here though.) This could be as simple as a crappy thyroid problem!! Just for your interest, this is what she is testing - FBC, ELFT's, ESR, CRP, TSH, iron studies, B12, folate level, ANA, RH factor, CK, Mg, serum and urine EPP and bence jones protein. She has stated that this is just for starters, she will follow up where necessary. I will get the results in 2 weeks when I see her again.
