They are a challenge, to be sure. I don't know what you might have already tried, so these are just general suggestions..if you haven't tried one of them yet, you might want to experiment:
1. Don't use the alcohol wipes before injection. I found they only dry out my skin, making it worse. I just make sure my hands are washed thoroughly, the spot where I'm going to inject is clean, and just do it. I've been doing it this way for at least 12 years now (I've been on Beta for 15) and have not ever had any adverse reaction from not using the alcohol swabs.
2. I use an aloe-based hand lotion on the spots.
3. Make sure to inject straight in to the skin. If any of the medication gets on the surface it seems to be a real irritant.
4. Make sure to not inject anywhere where there might something rubbing, like a waist band, or panty line, or any sort of restriction, like in a bend.
5. Not use the "auto injector". It seems to bruise more badly.
6. I just inject into my belly. I know they talk about "rotating areas"...but I find that so long as I am careful to not inject exactly into the area where I injected last time (I move side to side), there hasn't been a problem finding a place to inject. Every time I try to inject somewhere else, another very red irritated spot will appear.
