I went to the neurosurgeon today to find out what he thought about
the hole in my spine my neuro saw. Good news is that is a completely normal hole to have! He said it is just the hole in my spinal column that everyone has and it is just a little bit larger than normal. He said that they are genetic just like ear lobes and big feet, that some people have bigger holes than others. The bad news is that my neuro blamed the hole in my spine for my symptoms and the neurosurgeon said that the hole would not cause any symptoms at all. He said the hole would have to be extremely large and pushing against my spine, or causing pressure on my brain, which mine is not. And if it was that the symptoms I would notice are opposite of what I am feeling. Well I guess that is kind of good and bad news. I just wish I knew what was going on, I was hoping to get some answers today. He said my doc will probably go down the rest of the MS pathway now and do a spinal tap since I have had almost every other test done. But I dont see my neuro until the end of May. Although I am going to see his nurse for a med check in a couple of weeks. So I am going to mention that my symptoms are getting worse and see what she says.
By the way, the numbness/tingling I wrote about a few days ago is still here! It comes and goes throughout the day, but I am still feeling it.
Thanks for all of your support and for listening to me whine!
