Hey Deb, checking in to see if he had gotten them and how it worked out... I'm so sorry for the disappointment for him! But I understand the theory behind the situation. He's so fortunate though to be able to find a solution... it's just a little bit delayed now, it'll work out in the end.  Prayers for his patience... I know it's gotta be devastating hoping and looking so forward to it all.

I'm dealing with another kidney mess I think... it feels like a stone... I see my GP tomorrow.... we'll see what turns up. This pain can go away! :) Even hubby inquired tonight what was wrong last night as he said you must be hurting real bad, didn't you take any meds? I said yeah, all of them, to no avail... I am hoping it's not a kidney stone this time. Will check back tomorrow on ya!

Hey Back Deb, Well they rushed him in for another fitting tommorrow, he called his vision Dr. @ Uof M and she squeezed him in @2:oo.She said well, the fitting I gave you was very silimar to what you tryed on?Well guess what? It wasn't the same result.Anyways we really had the crash & burn results in are hopes,it took a few days but we are ok now, hopeful, but not too...

Whats up with the kidney issue?Did they find out anything yet.I've been thinging of you and apologize for not writing sooner.Deb

Hey Deb, sorry to hear this on the contacts... seems strange the other contacts tried worked so nicely and now these don't work so well... I think I'd be asking them to really back up and think a little outside their box for him. It'd be a shame to miss a single little point to help him on this!

I don't know about my kidneys... not an infection this time (no bacteria) but for some reason, stone or stones (gravel) as the doc put it due to too much uric acid production which all my labs have been coming back high but I've been allopurinol for that and it should have reduced it considerable so she's wanting lab and an IVP today (I did the whole pre test prep yesterday and am NPO this morn waiting to go down at 10am for it). It'll be a kidneys, bladder, ureter and tracts exam with contrast... trying to rule out multiple stones or anything else that may be in the way. Definitely been a puny week for me!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers... I always check back here to see what's up with you too! (One of the things I like about ths community). :)

He's setting aside the contacts for a few weeks, Friday we go to MS professor.Hes wanting to go back on THe Rebif & Copaxone combo.Thats when he felt the best,just being on the Copaxone is not enough to keep him feeling strong.Hes is feeling weak.I am not sure who decision it is, but the Dr. did mention Tysabri last visit..Not sure ..Big visit coming up..I'm losting weight fast.Tension in my neck is hurting constantly.I know its nothing compared to the issues , you all face with MS. JUst venting..Need prayers please.Deb

Prayer are coming your way.  Hang in there.  This is a stressful disease for those who suffer from it as well as their families.  I am sorry your son is not feeling well.  I hope the doctor will let him go back on the combined therapy if that was working for him.  Try to give this up to God.  Rest and eat as best you can.  Let us know how it goes in Friday.

Your note helped me sleep last night, I forget, how to give this to God,sometimes..not sometimes ..alot actually.I felt better today and happy, I just forget how..and I carry the burden myself.I listened to your words.. and did it. The problem is I don't do it every day.I can't for some reason....can you help answer this? I know how strong your faith in God is, can you do it every day?1mom

Hey Deb,

Sorry about being absent, have had a rough week of it... today is actually my first kidney pain free day in over a week! And it's barely free... there's twinges but nothing like it's been... I think the bleeding has finally stopped too by all I can tell so far. Waiting for the drs office to get back to me on the reports...

Friday night my purse, work bag (multiple files, miscellaneous stuff) was stolen from my car (broken into while we were at dinner) and it's been a bad week for stress and trying to cover and recover all my stuff the best I can! No luck finding anything... cop reports, changing bank accts etc... just a super sorry mess!

So I am praying for you and your son to find less stress... hope the meds can be what he wants and you can find the peace you need for him thru this... I greatly appreciate Gretchen's notes too... it's the perspective that counts. :)

Catch y'all tomorrow... I'm off to bed now...

Gretchen will be here to post to u later, but i wanted to just say something. Faith is a hard thing to have sometimes. It's hard to practice. We all forget to give things to God and we are even guilty of subconsciously feeling that we need to try to fix our own probs...when we can't. Most of the time we struggle and struggle on our own until something happens to show us we aren't going to be able to fix it. That's usually when we have a light bulb moment and 'get' that all we have to do is just ask God to take it for us. I keep saying 'we' because i'm SO guilty of this!! I wear myself out and when i can do no more and i'm at my lowest i finally give it to God. How do u do that? Well u just sincerely pray and ask God to carry this burden for u. U totally and with u'r most open of hearts lay it all out in prayer and then just leave it there as much as u can. That's not an easy thing to do...i often go and pick it back up...but then later i can lay it back down in prayer again. It's a practice...not an automatic thing. I know u know all this already, but sometimes it just helps to see/hear it again. I am praying for u and everyone here at Healing Well and i hope and pray u will be cared for and loved in the way that only God can do.

Hey Deb (1mom)

I am glad Rhonda got to this; I was out late at a baseball game (we lost :(  I have strong faith to be sure but it is hard work.  I am by no means an expert.  I have struggled so much with "giving up control".  As a mom and a teacher I am a bit of a control freak.  I can get really anxious and it can eat at me.  I have had to consciously work at letting go.  Believe me, I am certainly not successful all of the time.  How do I do it???  Well the best way I can explain it is I get somewhere really quiet so I can concentrate on my own thoughts and believe it or not my own breathing.  I can get real herky-jerky and shallow breathing when I am stressed.  I try to just concentrate on settling down.  I do some self talk that whatever I am trying to control or whatever is bothering me is not the end of the world.  Then I ask God to take it for me and I breathe in and out very purposefully.  On the exhale I literally let it go.  As I exhale I am thinking of releasing my worries, need for control, problems etc. straight out to God.  I do this for as long as I need to - ten minutes, thirty minutes.  I just get rid of it.  Now sometimes it comes right back lol but I just keep at it.  Sometimes I need reminders to keep at it.....those that know me know to cue me and support me on this. 

Just keep at it.  Like people always say - take it one day at at time and when that does not work then you take it one hour or even one minute at a time.  Hang in there and breathe.

Rhonda and Gretchen, thank you for saying it the best I have seen in a long time... I've found myself trying not to fall into my little black hole (mild depression) and have a pity party so I just get really quiet inside and then the kidney thing hit... the last 10 days prior to yesterday (hallelujah!) was constant pain... I wanted cut off the hands that were squeezing my kidneys to heck and back! And that wears on me bad... I try really really hard to be "up" all the time... I'm a church secretary and an administrative ass't to one of our elders who's a Commercial Realtor, and fortunately for me, my bosses are godly men who truly understand and counsel well but the last thing I want to be now is a basket-case. So I've been trying to just bear it.

On top of that we've had 2 deaths in my hubby's family and a funeral last weekend, now another coming up monday... sometimes I feel like I'll never get "unsad"! Fortunately God holds me together... that's why I love your tag line, Rhonda, He's always held me together... He spends a lot of time carrying me when I think I can't take another step.

You guys said a lot of wonderful stuff here and I know Deb will echo me, thank you, I appreciate it alot... it's more timely than you could remotely realize.

I can barely explain how wonderful it was for me to get all your responses.I leave my computer on most nights, so I don't have to go threw the whole jazz  of turning it on.I had no time to send a message out this morning ,.but I can tell you.Rhonda, Gretchen, and Deb..I had another happy day, today.I did  practice the breathing techique, on my way to work and also I'm into talking to myself :)   I took my son to the GP, on Sat & Wed night he had a b12 shot and a small shot of steroids Sat..Wed just a shot of steroids, and boy is he making a come back.He went out with his buddy  and tonight we when shopping for a few hours.He was doing this therapy for awhile , the weather had been bad and the flu out here was everywhere.So we quit going.What a shot in the arm(no pun intented)this is.God bless all of you for taking the time to comfort me.See MS Professor tommorrow.I will write soon.Love to all, and thank you.Deb

I hear ya on the feeling good after reading these responses, Deb... sooo glad to hear you son's on the up and up now... great news!   But do be very careful with the flu stuff, it's wicked! and by the same token, be careful for you too, it's really easy to catch it... so far it's danced all around me and I've missed it, I count my blesssings!

Yep, looking forward to that string of good days now... "looking forward" such is the key to falling backward into that little hole... :) Thanks everyone!

I"m so glad to see u both are feeling better. It truely can lift u in ways indescribeable to hear God's name spoken. Life in general can be hard, but add to it illness and pain and u just have a load too hard to carry on u'r own sometimes. It's at those times...when we need it most...that God's word can really speak volumes to us. Take good care of u'rselves ladies!

Well, just got home from the meeting with MS professor.He said the MRI is stable,no changes, in the 6 months.He said he would leave it up to my son,about useing the Rebif with Copaxone again, it was discussed and we are going to wait.He said that the thigh pain & soreness & knee pain may be something else, years 26 years of brutal hockey, (ligament damage)he had from prior hockey injurys, or just being more active.He is sending him to be check out with a reumatory specialist,in case something else is going on.He said if the steroid shots he had this week helped his legs, that it may be unrelated and he might have some inflammation issues.Also he wants him to try the Neurontin again,he said its been a year and things were really bad a year ago.Now is Now he said..,try it again for the tingling in your hands and it my help with the Nystagmus too!So onward we go...........Thanks to all..

Rhonda, I just wanted to thank you for your words of encouragement to 1mom. Even though they were for someone else, I took them to heart. Like you said, sometimes you just need to be reminded. I take on so much that I forget that I don't need to do this alone. It seems that when it rains it pours because my family has been dealing with so much stuff lately...it feels like it's never going to end. I know that God led me here to find friends and the support that I desperately needed. I know this because I had never before been on a forum much less posted to one. He is so good! Thanks for reminding me to let go and give it back to God. "Count it all joy".

You're so right... sometimes I find myself in what I call "machine mode" just plodding thru the days, pushing thru the pain, enduring one day into another and thinking Lord, is there a solution or and end in sight... and then a small word of encouragement reminds me to look up... or someone's comment makes me smile and remember a sense of humor goes a long way... or as nursekat pointed, humbles me to "Count it all joy"... our small group has just studied James on that... it's a tough reminder! But ultimately it's the only consolation that truly consoles so I appreciate the gentle nudge back to balance... thanks again!

I'm so glad u found that post helpful! Yes, God does lead us to places we never thought we'd go on our own. If not for my own health issues a few years ago i'd never have been here...and yes this is my first forum ever too! U'r right...count it all joy...even in the worst of situtations we can find some blessings that were hand picked for us. I have so many frinds i'd naver have had but for this forum and one very precious soul sister who was hand picked for me. Feel free to email me anytime if u'd like to talk privately. I know how u may be feeling with all the bad stuff at one time, but hang on friend. God leads us to and thru all things...to His glory and our good if we love Him.

Wow...i LOVE james! For such a small book it really packs quite a punch huh? Yeah, we do need reminding from time to time...and more often than that many times. That's why it's so good to have friends...and that's why God places people in our lives. We may never know the impact we have, good or bad, but we do impact for sure.

Rhonda - You are so right about James! It taught me how to "Praise You in the Storm" and truly mean, PTL in the midst of adversity though still I trip over myself at times! It's been a wonderful study and quite timely.

In the meantime, soaking up more and more info so I'm very prepared when I see the Neuro... hoping to get some kinda of regimen going.

Things are going fantastic,my son started on the Neurontin and he doing fantastic.Those are his words.Has slowed down the eye,,Nystagmus. given him energy, and took away some of the pins and needles on his hands.Just wanted to say hi, and thank you for all your prayers!Cause it worked! Still status quo... gotta call the GP again tomorrow about the kidneys. Still pained but not as constant & have had some really nice sweet days without it, but have pinpointed one single spot that is actually severely painful to just touch on the left kidney side. Then a trickle of blood but nothing more... so who knows. Hubby says that's good, the stone must be moving... yuck!

Waiting for my neuro date May 23.  Being a patient patient. :)
