I don't know if I am jumping the gun by assuming that I have MS, as I have not received any diagnosis. However, I have been experiencing increasing symptoms over the last few years and have finally got an appointment to see the neurologist next week. I got a recommendation from my GP 18 weeks ago and finally I will be seen. I have herniated discs in my neck from a car accident five years ago and when I initially started feeling many strange symptoms such as tingling in my hands and feet, my hands and feet FEELING as if they were swollen ten times their size, and a symphony of muscle spasms all over my body my GP thought that the symptoms may have beenrelated to the disc problems and sent me to a neurosurgeon. The nuerosurgeon did an MRI of my neck and said he did not recommend surgery and it was a neurolgist I needed to see. During this long waiting period other things have begin to happen. I am having terrible mini cramps in my legs primarily but on ocassion they are also in my arms. I get shooting burning sensations in my legs, my face goes numb, I am so light headed and weak feeling that on many days I don't want to get out of my bed. But the worst thing that has happened is that on one ocassion I had been out doing my weekly shop and I started getting weaker as I went around the store and by the time I got to the car I could hardly walk from the pain.
Three years ago I had a spellof dizziness and my GP treated me for vertigo which only lasted about two and it went away. The next year I started having alot of GI problems, and spent two weeks in hospital. They never came up with anything more than my stomach wasn't functioning properly and I also had IBS.
I feel so tired, drained and weak, my legs feel like lead weights, and I don't know from one day to the next whether or not I am going to meet my responsibilities.Does this sound like MS or are there other possibilities? Would appreciate any advice.
