The other morning I woke up and immediately began throwing up...I know it was because I was over heated. Now...I am wondering,can MS cause a person to throw up in extreme heat? I have never thrown up from heat before...throwing up at all is very rare for me.

Hey Nicole!!!

It is nice to hear from you again despite the circumstances.  Ok I am not sure about your question, well I understand your question but I am not sure about an answer, but.............due to the fact that many of us with MS cannot regulate our body temperatures, it seems reasonable to me if your body temp went up even a few degrees, that your body could respond by vomiting.  As warm blooded creatures, we do not tolerate temperature swings in either direction of more than one or two degrees without it affecting us.  Anyway, that is my take on it.

Now, what do you do about it?  Why were you over heated?  What can you do to prevent it in the future?  Work on that so you don't have to have that horrible experience again. 

How are you feeling a couple of weeks post surgery?  I hope you are feeling better.  Let us know.

Thanks Gretchen,that does make sense...I realized later the AC had been turned up to 74. I keep it at 68...so just that little bit and it just really hit me! I am doing fine now though,thankfully.

It's been *almost a month since surgery(well a month on July 12th)...I am doing good. Feeling pretty good. Everything seems all healed up and my scars are fading,slowly of course! LOL I havent had a period since surgery,so thats a great sign! My upper stomach has shrunk,it was sooooo swollen from my gall bladder. I it will probaly continue to do that a little over the next couple weeks.

I've been getting a new symptom these past 4-5 days. It's so weird and hard to explain. But I'll try... It comes on very icey cold and shots down by the corner of my right eye and threw my lip(right side). I feel that icey cold feeling into my mouth and slightly down my thraot. It's weird and almost feels numbing. I know...I know...I should tell my neuro

Hehe - yup, tell the neuro.  The good news is, that sensory stuff is rarely serious in MS.  It often reverses on its own.  I am glad you are feeling better and that the surgeries all seem to have had a positive outcome.
