Wow...Now this is real weird to me! I never even brought this up to my neuro Doc because I never thought it was related to to what brought me to him in the first place. I can hardly wait to ask him about it the next time I see him.
I am referring to what I just learned is called the 'MS Hug'. For at least the past 8-10 years I have experianced what , now I 'm thinking, is just that...the MS Hug. I thought it was my heart! In fact, I had to have a heart cath twice becasue of my symptoms...only to be told it was a muscle spasum in my chest muscles!
It came on slow for me, then very restrictive , like an elephant sitting on my chest, the pain was very horrible! I could hardly move, as I was so scared I was having a heart attack. I was also sweaty...certainly seemed like heart. I used to be a ski patroller, so I was sure it was my heart. Anyway, they ( the docs back then) also said I may have experianced a TIA, but still they were unsure..now I wonder....could I have been having MS Hugs? They lasted, with various levels of pain an hour or two and my chest would still feel uncomfortable a day or two later.
Sometimes I was doing heavy work around the house when it occurred, other times, I could just be sitting down and feel it coming on, even my jaw would ache!
I don't know, just wondered if anyone else has had these...I have been reading alot about MS since I have recently been diagnosed and found out about the hugs and thought of those episodes I had. Hugs to all~Katie
