deep muscle/bone pain/joints

Hi friends,

I am just curious if muscle aches/joint pain is part of MS. I have this often and it has just become even more apparant recently...especially in the evenings. Hugs~Katie

Hey Katie,

This disease is highly variable. The symptoms you feel are usually dependant upon the location and size of the lesions. I have had deep muscle pain usually associated with spasticity. I suppose if you have severe spasticity near a joint you could be pulling that joint well sort of out of allignment or against itself?? I don't see why some wouldn't have joint pain but I have not heard of anyone complain of this. Certainly mention it to your doctor.

Also, remember that just because we have MS does not keep us from getting other issues. You could certainly have some arthritis or other inflammation going on. Good luck.

Hey Katie

I agree with Gretchen, mention this to u'r doc. There well may be some arthritis or other joint issue going on there. Like she said, ms isn't an end all to all other ills and pains. It's hard to focus on anything else...esp given that this dx is so new...but other things can creep in on u while u'r not really looking. Just take good care to watch for u'rself.

I would mention that nerve pain is a big prob with ms. I don't have ms, but do have a lot of nerve pain. It's random. It can be anywhere and it hurts. That is what the neurontin is for. For me it works fine, but others here have had to try other meds to help with it. Def mention all of this to u'r doc. There is no need in u'r suffering if there is a med that can alleviate this for u. Take care friend and let us know how u'r doing.
