GRRRR! why doesn't the human body come with an instruction booklet?

went to costa rica at the end for june, first for 2 weeks, but extended to three. stayed at b&b while volunteering at a sloth preserve where they take in abandoned and wounded sloths and other wildlife. lived on fresh fruit, surrounded by wildlife, orchids and wonderful people. didn't want to leave paradise, but finally decided to come home.

got home and wound up in the hospital due to severe diarrhea and dehydration. slept for the week. they did a multitude of tests but released me when (i guess) insurance gave out. still had symptoms plus subnormal body temp complete w/chills and chattering teeth. diagnosis was the vague "severe infection from unknown source" which answers no questions.

then nj insurance gets screwed up i miss a couple of ivig drips for the ms. about to give up when neuro. takes on my medicare group and gets me okayed for home infusion again. but ms doesn't cover the intestinal stuff nor the subnormal body temp.

so look up subnormal body temp. on web and turn up thyroid sources. could be hyperthyroidism or similar ailment. why, if i'm bedridden for a week in the hospital did they not turn up something about that? about ready to pack up the parrot and go back to costa rica where i was at peace and happy.

guess will call doctor and ask for blood test to rule out thyroid. not sure which way to go. linda

you must go to costa rica if you haven't been! it is paradise! this was my 3rd trip there and already planning to go in april 2010. first trip was to the pacific side and also a naturalist tour. last year was mostly the central portion and the cloud forist. this past time was to the Caribbean side where there are far less tourists and/or retirees from U.S. like the last one best plus got to volunteer with some incredible people. fell totally in love with the area. do go! linda
