I had a spinal tap yesterday,,,,,so far no spinal headache, But I woke up today in terrible pain because my core muscles decided to freak out and go into spasms. I had to email my rheumy who ordered Soma (muscle relaxant).
The last time this happened was right after a liver biopsy....another procedure where they stick a needle where it doesn't belong! LOL!
Has anyone else had a weird reaction after a spinal tap?

Well...I guess not!
My rheumy says he doesn't know why I had such a reaction. I've come to the conclusion that I'm just weird.

I had severe pain in both forearms, my back and neck with a low grade headache. I searched google and found someone else had a similar reaction and stated that laying down flat relieved the pain. Sure enough laying flat totally eliminated the pain for me too. I spent nearly a week on my back until the pain finally went away. The only good thing was that when laying flat the was virtually no pain at all.
I hope you had a better experience.
Gary
