I recently went to the emergency room(no insurance at the time) because I had been having problems with balance for about
8 mos and nausea for about
1 month, but it was double vision that prompted an ER visit. the doctor did blood tests, a CT and they monitored BP for about
two hours, then he came back and said everything was great except the CT showed some evidence of white matter disease and that it was "possible MS" and I needed an MRI. I managed to get an appt with a neuro and they have ordered an MRA,MRI and blood tests I've done blood tests and not heard back. how long does it usually take? As for the MRIs after 3 weeks still no news it was supposed to be 10 days.
They did find my left side slow on some tests. And that's it.
Also I find myself unable to finish jobs without taking frequent breaks if I am in the heat, I am used to the humid Virginia summers and the heat itself doesnt bother me, that's why it took me some research on MS to realize my symptoms were heat induced. Also I'm experiencing Lhermittes sign on and off for weeks at a time. My balance problems vary in intensity and dont seem to be totally heat related. Also fatgue that gets much better in the evening. When I was told it was possible MS I thought the doc was stupid or wrong but as I researched MS it got harder and harder to deny, as all off the pieces fit so well and I am 30
