MRI differences

My daughter (23 yrs old) has had previous MRIs that noted PVL lesions (and, yes, she was premature). Her most recent MRI does not note these but notes 'a few white matter punctuate signal foci noted about the parietal, frontal, and occipital lobes...typically represent small vessel ischemic changes'.

She has already been diagnosed (and surgically 'resolved') with Chiari Type I Malformation and Syringomyelia. A new MRI was performed because her falling is getting worse, she has been starting to experience regular bouts of nausea some of which progress to vomiting, and occasional blurred vision, and waxing and waning issues of being able to begin her stream of urination.

So, I have a question...
The MRI does not note the PVLs mentioned earlier and does not note that the foci mentioned are not unchanged. Are these similar enough that they could be the same findings just noted under different names?

Or, is it possible that the new findings along with the symptoms indicative of MS?

I have gotten fairly used to the idea of my daughter being disabled, but for some reason I am really freaking out since everything I can find listed on the Net about these foci is in relation to MS.

I really appreciate any help or insight you can give me.
