I've had optic neuritis two times. Does that mean I have MS?

Not necessarily, but you need to see a neurologist and you should get an MRI.

I am recovering from bilateral optic neuritus. I lost sight totally in right eye and just saw black and white shadows in left. Sight is much better now. I had MRI scan which showed no signs of ms. My neurologist says it may be an isolated incident.

Hi Nicki,
Welcome to the board. I'm sorry you had a bout of ON! That's very scary. You had it bad in both eyes!! Did you do solumedrol?! I'm glad there is no evidence of MS. Let's hope it stays that way. I do know a person who had two bouts of ON and she didn't develop MS. Keep us posted!
