It's the same old story. First I started stumbling, foot drop, balance problems, bladder dysfunction, constipation, fatigue creeping up on me slowly, then the spasticity really hit. My health dropped off really quickly. Several neurologists prescribed only tranquilisers and muscle relaxants, Clonazepam and Baclofen. Zombifying drugs.
It too a lot of hunting about on the internet (one year and counting). TENS http://www.amazon.co.uk/NeuroTrac-ECS305-NeuroTrac%C2%AE-Rehab/dp/B000W07BH8/ref=s...
That's the model I bought. 100Hz is recommended (applied to the calf muscles), I like a "modulated TENS", gently sweeping from 0-100Hz and back. Really relaxes tired, spastic muscles.
I take a lot of supplements, the cheapest place I found was http://www.powdercity.com/ Mostly in bulk powder form, but cheap. A good thing considering the quantities I take.
I discovered L-threonine for spasticity. http://purebulk.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=L-Threonine A small reduction in spasticity, but any is welcome.
I gave up on the tranquilisers and Baclofen.
Modafinil really helped my fatigue, but too expensive on prescription. Tried to get Methylphenidate, but no doctor would prescribe it.
In the end I was prescribed Amantadine for fatigue. It didn't work. I found out about Ampyra for spasticity, couldn't get it prescribed, Then I heard about 4-aminopyridine, couldn't get it prescribed, I ordered Modafinil from India for a short while. Stressful, even though I had a prescription and a genuine medical need.
Then I found https://www.mod4all.com Modafinil, 4-aminopyridine, and they even have 4-aminopyridine-3-methanol, supposed to be a whole lot better than 4-ap. All the above has made a world of difference to my symptoms, walking, bladder and bowel control, fatigue and balance. I'm very interested in finding out what other people recommend, what works, what doesn't.
Anyway, thanks for reading
